Course Information
First Aid CPR Information
This course is designed for individuals who are required to provide first aid and CPR in the workplace or community setting. It is suitable for employees who must meet workplace first aid compliance requirements, as well as parents, carers, school staff, fitness professionals, hospitality workers, tradespeople and members of the public who wish to be prepared to respond in an emergency.
Employers may enrol staff to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety obligations and industry standards.

To enrol in this course, participants must be at least 14 years of age and provide valid government-issued photo identification.
Participants must hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) prior to the issuance of a Statement of Attainment.
Participants must be physically capable of kneeling on the floor and performing at least two (2) minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor, in accordance with assessment requirements.
All learners must complete the required pre-course online written assessment prior to attending the face-to-face training session.
Participants must possess sufficient English language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete written assessment tasks and understand emergency procedures.
This course delivers the nationally recognised units of competency:
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
The course consists of a mandatory pre-course online component followed by one (1) day of face-to-face training, typically conducted from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
The program provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to respond to common injuries, perform CPR, use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and manage medical emergencies in accordance with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and workplace requirements.
All training and assessment is conducted by qualified and experienced trainers in accordance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
Participants are required to complete assessment activities to demonstrate competency in accordance with the requirements of HLTAID011 and HLTAID009.
Assessment methods may include written knowledge assessment, scenario-based questions, and practical demonstration of CPR and first aid techniques under the direct observation of a qualified assessor.
Participants must demonstrate the ability to apply the DRSABCD emergency action plan, perform CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor, respond to simulated emergency scenarios, and manage common injuries and medical conditions.
All assessment activities must be completed to the required standard in order for a Statement of Attainment to be issued.
If you believe you may require reasonable adjustment or additional support during assessment, you must notify STAR Education prior to commencement of training.
Upon successful completion of all assessment requirements, participants will be issued Statements of Attainment for:
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
These units are nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Successful completion of this course supports workplace compliance requirements; however, it remains the responsibility of employers and participants to ensure ongoing compliance with industry or regulatory standards.
In accordance with industry guidelines:
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification is recommended to be renewed every twelve (12) months.
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid Certification is recommended to be renewed every three (3) years.
Participants are responsible for ensuring they maintain current certification as required by their employer, industry regulator, or governing body.
The course fee for the combined First Aid and CPR program is $149 per participant.
This fee includes the pre-course online component, face-to-face training, assessment, learner resources, and issuance of Statements of Attainment upon successful completion.
Payment is required at the time of booking to secure a place in the course. Enrolment confirmation is subject to payment and completion of the required enrolment documentation.
