Fees, Charges and Refunds Policy
STAR Education

At STAR Education, we are committed to providing clear, fair, and transparent information about all course fees, charges, and refund conditions. This policy outlines your rights and obligations regarding payments and refunds in accordance with the Standards for RTOs 2025 and the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Course Fees and Charges

STAR Education protects all student fees paid in advance.

Students will never be required to pay more than $1,500 in advance for training services not yet provided.

Full course fee information is provided before you enrol and is outlined in:

The course information on our website.

The Student Agreement and Course Outline provided prior to enrolment.

Fee information includes:
-
Total course cost, including any materials or administration fees.

Payment terms and schedule.
-
Details of any additional fees that may apply (e.g., replacement certificates, reassessment fees).

2. Course Fee Inclusions and Additional Costs
Included in your course fees:

All training and assessment required to achieve your qualification or unit of competency.

One set of learning materials or digital access to course content.

One set of certification documents (testamur and record of results or statement of attainment).
Not included in your course fees:
-
Optional or replacement textbooks and stationery.
-
Reassessment fees if additional attempts are required after the third submission.

Replacement or reissued certificates ($50 per document).
3. Payment Terms and Methods

Payment can be made by card (Visa, MasterCard, EFTPOS), bank transfer, cheque, or money order.

Payment schedules (instalments) are outlined in your Student Agreement.

If you experience financial difficulty, please contact STAR Education to discuss alternative payment arrangements.

Where fees are more than 40 days overdue, STAR Education may:

Suspend training and/or services until fees are paid; or
-
Refer the outstanding balance to a debt collection agency.

4. Cooling-Off Period
If you enrol as a result of telephone or door-to-door marketing, you are entitled to a 10-business-day cooling-off period from the date of signing your agreement. To withdraw during this period, please notify STAR Education in writing.
5. Refunds and Withdrawals
How to request a refund:
Email info@staredu.com.au with your full name, course, enrolment date, and the reason for your request.
Full Refunds

If you withdraw in writing during the 10-business-day cooling-off period (for sign-ups made via telemarketing or door-to-door).

If STAR Education cancels or postpones a course before it starts.
Partial or Pro-Rated Refunds

If STAR Education discontinues a course or is unable to deliver the remaining training as agreed.

Refunds are calculated for the portion of training not yet delivered.
Withdrawals after commencement

Refunds are considered case-by-case based on services already provided and reasonable administrative costs incurred.

We’ll email you the outcome within 28 business days of your request.
Non-Refundable Fees

RPL application fees, reassessment fees, and reissued certificates ($50 per document).

Fees for units where training/assessment has already been provided.
6. Refund Payments and Records

Refunds are paid to the original payer and processed within 28 business days of approval.

All transactions are recorded securely.

You may appeal a decision under our Complaints & Appeals process.
7. Consumer Protection and Feedback
STAR Education complies with the Australian Consumer Law and the Standards for RTOs 2025, ensuring fairness and transparency in all transactions.
If you are not satisfied with a decision related to your fees or refund, you may lodge an appeal under our Complaints and Appeals Policy.
