If you're transporting explosives in Australia, it is mandatory to hold a current Explosives Driver’s Licence issued by your state or territory authority. With a unified national approach now in place, drivers must demonstrate competence in nationally recognised units specific to handling and transporting explosives.

Course Requirements

To enrol in this course, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Hold a valid Australian Driver’s Licence

  • Have a sound understanding of English

  • Have basic computer skills and access to email (for online delivery)

This course includes a Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) assessment to ensure participants can meet safety and regulatory obligations.

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following nationally recognised units:

  • TLID3015 – Identify and label explosives or dangerous goods

These units are required by most state and territory regulators to apply for or renew a Class 1 Explosives Driver Licence.
